Cameron holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling from City University of Seattle, and a B.A. in Psychology from Carleton University. Cameron had the privilege of varied training in contrasting areas like mindfulness and PTSD treatments. This has helped develop an effective and open-minded approach to mental health treatment.
My interest in mental health was sparked through my work with developmentally disabled and at-risk young men. This interest has led to incredible experiences in government-funded agencies, non-profits, and my own private practice. I found the vision and values at Manifest were aligned, so I jumped aboard.
Struggling with mental health concerns is common, and I aim to normalize this with clients so we can get started on treatment. I do not want to just work in the field of mental health but want to change it. I want men to speak up and to get help when they cannot cope.
My experience working within interdisciplinary treatment teams taught me that measurable changes to mental health function are critical. I have found that the counselling process can be vague, unstructured, and without clear timelines. I set clear goals with clients and remain accountable to treatment progression and achieving therapeutic outcomes.
